![]() And I’m not talking a little 300m hill in your flat run, I mean the whole run as uphill. That’s it, 5 tricks to making sure your next run is faster.Īfter you’ve done these, you’ll probably be addicted to running like me, so I’d suggest these 4 add-ons to your arsenal of running:įirst ultra I did crushed me, because I never trained on hills. Depending on your anatomy, it will be somewhere around the 90 BPM mark. Here’s a YouTube clip of what I mean, all you have to do is make sure your right foot lands on every beat. I overtake most people on uphills now, where before I would need to massage my calves on the way up.įor me, and a lot of my running friends, there is a magic cadence somewhere between 85 and 90 beats per minute that puts all of the above into place for you. Land with a flat foot and a shorter stride and you can use uphills as a way of resting your calves. Keep your hips square when you land and you’ll be able to run much faster.įorefoot running is quite the trend, but nothing kills calves like running 8 or 9 k’s uphill on your toes. Watching someone dumping from the front kind of reminds me of how a gecko walks. To now take the next step means I’ll have to use my hip muscles to stand up straight. If you take a look at the picture, you’ll see the transfer of power from the ground travels right up through my hip and out into nothing. On landing, you’ll tend to dump your opposite hip toward the ground. Aim your toes where you want to go, and you’ll get there faster. Running with your toes pointing out puts enormous strain on your hips, knees and ankles. ![]() ![]() I call it ducking, If you run like a duck, you’ll go as slow as a duck. Having your toes pointing outward it a very stable position to stand but it is extremely inefficient for running. Stand up out of your desk and look at your feet. If you’re finding yourself swinging your arms left and right but going nowhere, just change the angle of the swing to be more forward and back. Your arms should be pointing more or less in the direction you want to go. So here are my 5 tricks to getting a better performance in your next run. To get the most distance for the least effort. The difference for me is that I know how to run more efficiently. People say I am an anomaly or a freak, but I’m not I’m no different to anybody else. Last year I placed 3 rd and 4 th over consecutive weekends for 55km and 45km trail races. I don’t train like a runner at all… But I am. I don’t blame them either, I don’t look like a runner. When I rock up to the start line of an ultra, almost everybody pushes to get in front of me so that I don’t hold them up. I have both meniscus torn, so every physio and orthopod (except my awesome brother) says I can’t run. I love that I am running when I am not meant to. ![]() Help them out, give them some of your healthy junk chocolate brownie.īanish the caulifart from workplaces forever… Poor Brenda, who’s sitting in the corner stomaching her sweaty, limp broccoli, or Gavin, who’s been chewing the same piece of dried up chicken breast for nearly 20 minutes, willing himself to just swallow. Open these at work, and the caulibuse will change to brownie love, like zombies of love, everyone will creep closer. They’re made of healthy ingredients, at home, and it didn’t take you long at all. So good that they crumble as you close your mouth on them. You could eat a lot of them and not feel tired.Ĭhocolate brownies so good that they melt your soul when you smell their delicate, loving aroma. Imagine if you could eat chocolate brownies at morning tea that were so healthy you could eat a lot of them and still not get fat. Imagine if you could take in chocolate brownies to work and not get fat. They say simple things amuse simple minds. Everyone sniffing around taking deep breaths trying to work out where the cauliflower was. Head stretched on long necks, craning to get a better whiff, maybe discover the direction of the stench.įinally, their scanning eyes would fall on me, red faced from laughing while I try to eat my tupperware of caulifart.įunnier still were the days that they’d be yelling that someone has brought cauliflower into the lunch room again, but nobody had. I used to laugh so much when I’d open my lunch box and everyone would look around trying to figure out who’s fart they could smell. Steamed cauliflower is like an old hobo’s blanket. Or worse, their cabbage or their steamed cauliflower. Then someone decides to get fit and bring in their chicken and broccoli. A 15 minute break could end up lasting 20 or sometimes 25 minutes (never 30, that would be too obvious). I remember going to the toilet before the break (because that doesn’t count as part of the break) and then again after the break. Squeezing as much down time as you can out of your 15 minute morning break is an office artform. ![]() Hat are you having with your morning coffee? Chocolate Brownies so good they’ll melt your soul… ![]() ![]() ![]() But I totally agree that a zombie mode or game based more around the military and establishing safe zones to rescue civilians would be awesome, not just civies who somehow become expert survivors. These are just two ideas I had, hopefully they make sense, my descriptions are a bit wordy so sorry for that. Maybe there could be random events or random spawns at the start of the game of of crews isolated and needing rescue, if you save them they join you. So in practice you might start the game with 3 helicopter crews but 5 helicopters, If a helicopter is damaged and then crashes but you can rescue the crew in time, there is a spare helicopter at you main base. Something that would be unique to the zombie mode would be having limited crews for the number of vehicles, meaning you start with a certain nubmer and so they are worth rescuing if you can then put them in a new vehicle (if you have any left at base). If a tank runs out of fuel or ammo or is damged you can tell the crew to bail out and make for saftey, downed pilots could be stuck in dangerous places and you have to try and rescue them. Not an overhaul, just an enhancement mod that preserves original flavor of game. Something that I wish was in wargame (and more importantly if a zombie mod were to be made, I don't quite know how it would work in vanilla yet) would be vehicles having crews as seperate units. Wargame Unofficial Patch Mod An unofficial patch fixes inconsistencies, balance, and AI of original game. Instead of invincible tanks that are made immobile by hordes, have the zombies swarm ontop and around the tanks and it slowly get damaged, specific parts could be damaged just like in vanilla, this leaves you with the choice to spend time and munitions trying to rescue the tank, leave the rescue longer and have to reapair it more later (or risk it being destroyed if you take to long), or chossing leave it completely and it be damaged to a point of no repair, sacrificing it (and it's crew). A one thhing i'd change and one thing i'd add are: Wow ACJCLIGHTNING, that sounds almost perfect. Kinda curious about mods, kinda just wanna mess around a bit and see what kind of mods you guys have found and what you guys found to be the best or most exciting. ![]() ![]() ![]() (midnight) on Saturday, October 14th until further notice

The process capabilities of AKO's underlying technology had been rolled out to AKO organizations for the development and delivery of Business Process Management applications. Army)Ī primary function of Army Knowledge Online was its web-based e-mail and collaboration capabilities. Unlike a full account, guest accounts require an Army sponsor with an authorized full account. Authorized full accounts did not require any sponsorship to register, and included the following: There are two different types of accounts on Army Knowledge Online, a full account and a guest account. In October 2010, all active duty, reserves, and national guard soldiers were required to register an account on AKO. ![]() Over time, AKO incorporated many centralized functions to improve utility as an intranet portal and central services hub. Other initiatives, such as PKI, were also piloted by AKO, prior to widespread adoption by the Army. Efforts like "email for life" piloted by AKO was an early precursor to "Soldier for Life" initiatives in the Army. AKO attempted to become a central portal for communication among Army (military and civilian) Service members and contractors. Army intranet presences on networks were not highly developed, or were more limited in capability and scope. Īt the time of creation, the Army did not have a centralized portal construct. The project has run through various incarnations and later project leaders, but still the fundamentals of this system apply: centralized name spacing of email (with webmail access), white pages, unification of data conduits, central capability of authentication and repudiation of credentials and the ability to remotely access content. Early Project Officers for AKO were charged to develop, research and expand the portal to benefit Army Users Worldwide and to grow the system from its less than auspicious roots. This early project led to A2OL (America's Army Online), but legal concerns over this name and the parallelism to other commercial vendors caused the Army Project team to seek a new name. History and development ĪKO was established in the late 1990s as an experimental outgrowth of a project of the General Office Management Office. AKO had approximately 2.3 million registered users, supporting over 350K users logging in up to a million times a day as well as receiving and delivering on average 12 million emails daily. Users can build custom access control lists for each piece of content they own to determine the audience allowed to see or use their content. Appian provides the foundation for all information dissemination, knowledge sharing, process management and collaboration across AKO. AKO had been expanded to the broader DoD community through Defense Knowledge Online, essentially just a rebranding.ĪKO was an integrated suite of a number of commercial-off-the-shelf products, including the Appian Business Process Management (BPM) Suite technology. AKO was deemed "the world's largest intranet in the early 2000's." One of every two deployed soldiers accessed the portal daily for mission and personal purposes, and in 2008 AKO recorded its one-billionth login. ![]() AKO provided the Army with a single entry point for access to the Internet and the sharing of knowledge and information, making AKO the Army's only enterprise collaboration tool operating throughout the Department of the Army (DA) worldwide. ![]() ![]() Finally, it's important to use the correct size and type of wire for each of the circuits, as indicated on the wiring diagram. Once everything is correctly wired, the main breaker can be switched on, and the individual branch breakers can be used to control the power running through each of the 12 individual circuits. This can be found on the wiring diagram, and it's important to double check the rating before turning on the power. It's also important to ensure the main breaker is rated for the correct amperage for the circuits running through the box. ![]() The grounding wire should be connected directly to the ground bar located inside the box. The most important part of the installation process is making sure the load center is properly grounded. With this knowledge in hand, it's time to begin installation. The diagram displays the various components of the load center, including the main breaker, which acts as an overall switch for the entire system the individual branch breakers, which are responsible for controlling the electricity running to each individual circuit and the neutral bars, which connect the grounding wires from all of the circuits. Getting Started: Installing Your Homeline Load Center Before beginning the installation process, it's important to understand the basics of a Homeline Load Center wiring diagram. The diagrams provided by Square D are clear and easy to follow, giving homeowners the confidence they need to make sure their electrical system is properly installed and functioning. It connects to two 120-volt circuits, and can be used to power up to 12 individual circuits.
